The much-awaited sequel to the 2012 hit Son of Sardaar has hit a slight roadblock. The release of Son of Sardaar 2, starring Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur, has been officially postponed. Originally scheduled to release in theatres on July 25, the film will now hit the big screen on August 1, 2025.
The announcement was made today through a fresh promotional poster with the tagline: “The laughter riot just got a new date.” However, the filmmakers have not revealed the reason behind the sudden rescheduling, which comes less than a week before the initial release.
Set against the picturesque landscapes of Scotland, the sequel follows Jassi (played by Devgn) on a new whirlwind adventure. Mrunal Thakur joins the franchise as his love interest, and the film also features Kubbra Sait, Deepak Dobriyal, and Nav Ghotra in key roles.
Adding a twist to the narrative, the story also explores the journey of 12-year-old Aarav and his group of friends as they embark on a heartwarming quest during a mango festival to find a rare golden mango—promising a blend of humor, emotion, and adventure for audiences of all ages.
Stay tuned for more updates as the film gears up for its August 1 worldwide release
