Awareness Programme held under Delhi Police ‘We Care’ programme

New Delhi : Continuing its community-centric policing initiatives, the PMMC Unit of Delhi Police organised a ‘We Care’ Programme at Ajmal Khan Park, in Central District, Delhi. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, including a significant gathering of senior citizens.

The programme aimed at strengthening police-public interaction and creating awareness about important safety and security issues. During the event, the SHO, PS DBG Road conducted an awareness session on cyber crime prevention, financial frauds and safe digital practices. Special emphasis was laid on the safety of senior citizens. They were sensitised about the National Cyber Crime Helpline No. 1930 and informed about common cyber frauds targeting elderly persons. They were also advised on the immediate steps to be taken in case of financial fraud and the importance of promptly reporting such incidents. The participants were further sensitised about precautionary measures to safeguard themselves and prevent falling victim to crime.

As part of the programme, a specialised team from the SPUWAC Unit conducted a practical demonstration of self-defence techniques and imparted basic skills for personal safety. The traffic staff also conducted an informative session on essential traffic rules and road safety measures, encouraging citizens to adopt safe and responsible commuting practices.

To further reinforce the safety messages, the Jan Sampark Vahan of the PRO Branch was deployed at the venue to screen informative and awareness videos focusing on the safety and security of women and children. The programme also featured a tactical demonstration by the SWAT Team, showcasing their operational preparedness and skills. The Delhi Police Women Band presented a musical performance, which was appreciated by the gathering and added to the overall appeal of the programme.
