Palwal Witnesses Massive Tiranga Yatra Led by Gaurav Gautam

Palwal, August 13, 2026; Palwal turned into a vibrant display of national pride on Thursday as a large-scale Tiranga Yatra led by Haryana Government Sports and Youth Empowerment Minister Gaurav Gautam passed through the city, drawing enthusiastic participation from people across different sections of society.

The highlight of the procession was a giant Tricolour measuring nearly 5 kilometres in length and 10 feet in width. Beginning at Palwal Police Lines, the march passed through several parts of the city amid patriotic chants, music and widespread public participation.

The procession witnessed a steady rise in participation as it moved along its designated route. Residents gathered outside their homes, shops and public places to catch a glimpse of the enormous national flag.

People waved Tricolours and raised slogans such as “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”. At nearly 20 points, the yatra was accorded ceremonial welcomes by residents, social groups and local organisations. Flower showers, drums and patriotic programmes added to the festive atmosphere.

The participation extended beyond political and organisational groups, with students, teachers, traders, women, senior citizens, youth and members of various social organisations joining the celebrations.

The unusually large size of the national flag became the main attraction of the procession. As it moved through the streets, large crowds gathered to witness the sight and express their respect for the Tricolour.

Many families brought children to the route, while young participants walked alongside the flag carrying smaller national flags. The procession presented a visual representation of people coming together under a common national symbol.

School students and teachers were among the prominent participants during the yatra. Children carrying Tricolours and joining patriotic chants added energy to the proceedings.

Women from different parts of Palwal participated in the celebrations and welcomed the procession at several locations. Many of them gathered along the route with Tricolours and offered flowers as the yatra passed by.

Senior citizens also turned up in significant numbers. Several residents reached the route ahead of the procession and remained present as the giant flag moved through the city.

Addressing the gathering, Haryana Government Sports and Youth Empowerment Minister Gaurav Gautam said the Tricolour represents the country’s honour, unity and collective identity.

He appreciated the people of Palwal for their overwhelming participation and said that patriotism transcends social, organisational and individual differences.

Gautam expressed gratitude to students, teachers, women, senior citizens, youth, traders, volunteers, social organisations and residents for contributing to the success of the yatra. He said collective respect for the national flag strengthens the spirit of unity and encourages citizens to work towards the country’s development.

The district administration and police teams remained involved in managing arrangements along the route. Traffic movement, crowd management and other logistical requirements were coordinated to facilitate the procession.

The event also saw the presence of several administrative officials and BJP organisation representatives, including Deputy Commissioner Dr. Jitendra Chhillar, Superintendent of Police Nitesh Agarwal, BJP District President Vipin Baisla, Municipal Commissioner Manisha Sharma and Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Bhupendra Singh.

As the yatra progressed, major roads and market areas witnessed large gatherings. Patriotic songs and slogans created an atmosphere of celebration, while participants continued to move alongside the giant Tricolour.

The event brought together people belonging to different age groups and social backgrounds, with the national flag serving as the common point of participation.
