Delhi Police Marks 150 Years of Vande Mataram with Mass Singing at Headquarters
Police personnel unite to mark 150 years of Vande Mataram under Har Ghar Tiranga 2026.
The Impressive TimesNew Delhi, August 11, 2026; The Delhi Police observed the Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 campaign with a special patriotic programme at the Police Headquarters, where officers and personnel came together for a collective rendition of Vande Mataram and the National Anthem.
The event, organised at the Adarsh Auditorium, marked 150 years of Vande Mataram and highlighted the enduring significance of the National Song in India’s freedom movement and national life.
Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar, IPS, was present during the programme along with senior officers and police personnel. A documentary tracing the historical journey and importance of Vande Mataram was also screened for the participants.
The gathering concluded with everyone joining in the singing of Vande Mataram followed by the National Anthem, creating an atmosphere of patriotism and national solidarity.
The initiative aimed to strengthen the values of national unity, civic commitment and respect for the Tiranga among Delhi Police personnel. Similar programmes are being conducted across different districts and units of the force under Har Ghar Tiranga 2026.
Vande Mataram, written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in 1875, played a significant role in inspiring the freedom movement and remains a powerful symbol of devotion to the nation.
