Mumbai to Host BRICS WAVES Bazaar, Over 500 Global Creative Industry Delegates to Participate

NFDC to organise two-day international marketplace on August 6-7 to promote collaboration, investment and innovation across BRICS creative economies

Mumbai, Aug. 2, 2026:The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, will host the BRICS WAVES Bazaar in Mumbai on August 6 and 7, bringing together more than 500 delegates from BRICS member and partner countries to strengthen collaboration in the global creative economy.

Conceived as a premier international marketplace, the event will bring together representatives from governments, industry bodies, production houses, broadcasters, OTT platforms, investors, technology companies, startups, cultural institutions and creative enterprises to explore new opportunities in the audiovisual and creative sectors.

Organised under India’s BRICS Presidency, the two-day event aims to promote dialogue, business engagement, knowledge exchange and cross-border partnerships while positioning the creative economy as a key driver of innovation, entrepreneurship and economic growth.

The programme will feature high-level conferences, keynote addresses, panel discussions, business networking sessions and curated Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings. Discussions will focus on international co-production, content financing, digital transformation, intellectual property rights, women-led entrepreneurship, emerging technologies, public policy and South-South cooperation.

A major attraction of the event will be the Creators’ Hub, an exhibition showcasing creative enterprises, startups, technology providers, studios and service companies. The exhibition will offer participants opportunities to explore innovative products, identify business prospects and forge international partnerships.

The Bazaar will also host structured B2B meetings connecting producers, studios, broadcasters, OTT platforms, investors, buyers, distributors, government agencies and creative businesses. These interactions are expected to facilitate collaborations in content creation, technology partnerships, market access, co-production and investment.

The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of redefining BRICS as “Building Resilience and Innovation for Cooperation and Sustainability” during India’s presidency of the grouping. The event seeks to deepen cultural and commercial ties among participating countries while expanding opportunities for trade, investment and creative collaboration.

The BRICS WAVES Bazaar is expected to be one of the largest international gatherings under the BRICS framework dedicated to the creative economy, with participation from government agencies, film commissions, streaming platforms, production companies, cultural organisations, startups and global industry leaders.
