New Delhi, June 12, 2026: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra on Friday highlighted the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 12-year tenure, describing the period as a journey of development, public trust, governance reforms, and welfare-driven initiatives.
Addressing a press conference, the leaders said that the last 12 years have reflected a model of governance focused on public service, infrastructure growth, economic progress, and inclusive development. The event was moderated by BJP Media Head Praveen Shankar Kapoor and attended by Delhi BJP Vice President and MLA Rajkumar Bhatia.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the completion of 12 years marks a significant phase in India’s development journey, where government schemes and initiatives have focused on improving the lives of citizens across sectors. She said that leadership focused on service and public participation has contributed to major changes in areas ranging from rural development and technology to infrastructure and national security.
She highlighted achievements in transport, digital connectivity, manufacturing, defence, startups, healthcare, and welfare schemes. According to her, India’s expanding metro network, aviation growth, digital infrastructure, and manufacturing capacity reflect the pace of transformation over the past decade.
Rekha Gupta also spoke about Delhi-specific projects, including expansion of the Metro network, road infrastructure development, highway connectivity, electric buses, sanitation initiatives, and healthcare facilities. She said major projects such as Bharat Mandapam, the Pragati Maidan Integrated Transit Corridor and the upcoming Metro corridor connecting R.K. Ashram Marg to Indraprastha would improve connectivity and reduce travel challenges in the national capital.
She added that initiatives related to sewer infrastructure, waste management, clean energy, and public transport have strengthened Delhi’s urban development framework.
Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra said the past 12 years represented a period of governance based on public confidence and national interest. He said people support governments when policies directly improve their lives and when administration functions as a service mechanism.
Highlighting infrastructure growth, Malhotra said rural roads, national highways, expressways, and urban transport networks have expanded significantly during this period. He noted that projects such as the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Dwarka Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway, and other connectivity initiatives are expected to reduce travel time and improve mobility.
He also emphasised achievements in digital services, welfare schemes, entrepreneurship, defence production, cultural projects, and India’s global engagement.
The leaders highlighted several welfare programmes, including housing, financial inclusion, health coverage, clean cooking fuel, farmer support, street vendor assistance, and drinking water initiatives. They said these programmes aim to strengthen economic security and improve quality of life for citizens.
Harsh Malhotra stated that India’s global position has strengthened through diplomatic initiatives, technological growth, and increased economic engagement. He added that national security measures and defence modernization have also contributed to a stronger image of India internationally.
Concluding the address, Malhotra announced that the Delhi BJP would soon launch a public outreach campaign to inform citizens about the achievements of the Central Government over the last 12 years and the Delhi Government’s initiatives during its recent tenure.
