Harsh Malhotra Launches Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025 in East Delhi to Promote Grassroots Sports and Fitness

New Delhi, November 6, 2025: Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and Road Transport & Highways,  Harsh Malhotra, inaugurated the Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025 – East Delhi at the East Vinod Nagar Sports Complex today. The event, aimed at encouraging local sporting talent and promoting physical fitness, witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth and sports enthusiasts. MLA Ravinder Singh Negi (Patparganj) and several dignitaries were also present during the launch ceremony.

Addressing the gathering,  Malhotra underlined the importance of fostering a strong sporting culture at the grassroots level, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’. He applauded the youth for their energetic participation, describing it as a reflection of their determination and national pride.

The Minister remarked that the Sansad Khel Mahotsav is more than a sports event — it serves as a platform to discover, train, and support emerging athletes, paving their path toward district, state, and national-level championships.

Quoting the five S’s of sports — Speed, Stamina, Skill, Strength, and Spirit,  Malhotra said that “Spirit” is the greatest of them all. He also highlighted the recently introduced Khelo Bharat Niti 2025, a transformative policy designed to enhance India’s sports infrastructure and inspire a culture of fitness and excellence among citizens.

Reiterating that sports deserve equal importance alongside education and culture, Malhotra encouraged schools, colleges, and local clubs to participate wholeheartedly in the Mahotsav and make it a resounding success.

The Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025-East Delhi will feature 11 sporting competitions across disciplines such as athletics, kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball, wrestling, football, and more, with separate categories for boys and girls.

Concluding his address, the Minister called upon all educational institutions, sports associations, and community members to come together to create a vibrant sporting ecosystem in East Delhi.
