Hardoi, April 29, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated the 594 kilometre long six lane Ganga Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district, marking a major milestone in the state’s infrastructure expansion.
The newly launched expressway, one of India’s largest greenfield road projects, is designed to enhance high speed connectivity between western and eastern Uttar Pradesh. Officials said the corridor will significantly reduce travel time between key regions while improving logistics and transport efficiency across the state.
Spanning 12 districts, the expressway connects Meerut with Prayagraj and is expected to play a key role in boosting industrial activity and regional development. The project has been developed with modern engineering standards, including provisions for future expansion and advanced safety features.
Authorities highlighted that the expressway will also strengthen rural and urban linkages by integrating hundreds of villages along its route, improving access to markets, services and economic opportunities.
The inauguration of the Ganga Expressway is being seen as a major step in Uttar Pradesh’s broader infrastructure push, aimed at transforming connectivity into a driver of economic growth across the region.
