Mumbai– PVR INOX has announced a special film festival dedicated to the celebrated Bollywood director David Dhawan, bringing back some of his most loved comedy films to the big screen. The initiative aims to honor his long-standing contribution to Hindi mainstream cinema, especially his signature style of light-hearted, family-oriented entertainers.
The curated lineup includes popular titles such as Raja Babu, Aankhen, and Partner, which originally helped define 1990s and early 2000s Bollywood comedy. The festival has been planned as a tribute ahead of Dhawan’s upcoming release, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.
According to PVR INOX representatives, the event is designed to reconnect audiences with the theatrical experience of classic films, allowing both older fans and newer viewers to enjoy the movies in their original cinema format. The company highlighted that such screenings help preserve India’s film heritage while celebrating filmmakers who shaped popular entertainment.
David Dhawan, known for his long career spanning over four decades, expressed gratitude for the tribute and shared that his films were always made with the intention of entertaining audiences and bringing joy. He added that experiencing his work again in cinemas would revive the energy and humor that defined his storytelling style.
The festival is expected to draw strong interest from audiences who grew up watching Dhawan’s comedies as well as younger viewers discovering them for the first time.
