Ludhiana: Man Accused of Assaulting Partner, Shaving Her Head and Posting Video Online
Police register FIR as accused goes on the run; victim hospitalised with serious injuries
The Impressive TimesLudhiana- A disturbing case of alleged assault and humiliation has surfaced from Ludhiana, where a man has been booked for attacking his live-in partner, forcibly shaving her head, and uploading a video of the act on social media, police said.
The accused, identified as Anand Chaudhary, is currently absconding. An FIR has been registered against him under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges related to causing hurt, grievous injury, and criminal intimidation.
According to investigators, the woman—who is married and has three children—had been living with the accused for nearly a year. Police said the incident took place on April 21 following an argument after she objected to his alcohol consumption.
In her complaint, the victim alleged that the accused, reportedly under the influence, assaulted her and used a trimmer to shave her head. She further claimed that he recorded the act and shared the video online. The footage was later taken down.
The woman also accused him of attacking her with an iron rod, resulting in serious injuries, including a fracture. She is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
Police officials said the accused had allegedly tried to defame the woman on earlier occasions as well. Efforts are underway to trace and arrest him.
