Woman Killed, Body Hidden in Bed Box in Mangolpuri; Boyfriend Among Three Arrested

Argument turns fatal as accused allegedly strangles victim; two others held for aiding escape

New Delhi: A shocking murder case has emerged from Mangolpuri, where a 35-year-old woman was allegedly killed and her body concealed inside a bed storage box at a PG accommodation. Police have arrested three individuals, including the victim’s 22-year-old boyfriend, in connection with the crime.

According to investigators, the incident came to light after the owner of the PG facility returned to his room and noticed something unusual. On checking the bed storage, he discovered the woman’s body and immediately informed the police.

Officials said the accused had earlier requested temporary use of the room, claiming he needed privacy to meet the woman.

During questioning, the main accused reportedly admitted to killing the woman during an argument. Police said the dispute escalated after she refused certain demands, leading to a violent confrontation.

Investigators revealed that the accused allegedly overpowered the victim, smothered her, and strangled her. He later hid the body in the bed box before fleeing the scene.

Authorities further stated that two other individuals—his uncle and another associate—were present nearby and allegedly assisted him in escaping after the crime.

The victim, a resident of the same locality, worked as a domestic helper and is survived by her family. Her body has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Police have registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges of murder and destruction of evidence.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to establish the full sequence of events and the extent of involvement of each accused.
