Vidya Sagar International School’s Two Branches Kick Off Grand Sports Meet in Faridabad

Faridabad: Vidya Sagar International School’s two branches came together to organise a grand Sports Meet that opened with remarkable enthusiasm and lively participation. The large-scale event drew an impressive crowd of nearly 5,000–6,000 spectators, turning the school grounds into a vibrant celebration of sports, unity and community spirit.

The opening ceremony was graced by Haryana’s Minister Rajesh Nagar, Mayor Praveen Batra and special guest Sandeep Dahiya, XEN, HSVP. They were warmly welcomed with floral bouquets and ceremonial stoles by Chairman Dharmapal Yadav, Director Deepak Yadav and Sunita Yadav.

The programme began with the unfurling of the national flag and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Adding vibrancy to the event, a colourful carnival was organised for parents and children, featuring engaging games such as ring toss, balloon dart, hit-the-target and mini-sports activities.

Food stalls set up by students and the school team offered a variety of snacks, adding flavour and excitement to the day. A symbolic moment marked the start of the sports activities as the dignitaries released white pigeons, sending out a message of peace and harmony. The gesture received loud applause from the packed audience.

Addressing the gathering, the distinguished guests praised the discipline and talent of the students, emphasising that such events nurture teamwork, leadership and physical fitness. The Sports Meet featured a diverse range of track and field events, including races, relay, long jump, high jump, fun games for parents and a cricket match series. Students’ energetic participation impressed spectators, while enthusiastic involvement from parents further elevated the spirit of the event.

The smooth organisation and meticulous arrangements drew appreciation from all sides. The event concluded with the awarding of medals and trophies to the winners. Chairman Dharmapal Yadav reaffirmed the school’s commitment to the holistic development of students, stressing that Vidya Sagar International School places equal emphasis on sports, co-curricular activities and academics. He praised both branch principals, Rekha Malik and Sweta Nag, along with their teams, for successfully organising the large-scale and memorable programme.
