New Delhi- Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam (ABSS) 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi today, commemorating five years of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The grand event witnessed the unveiling of education projects worth over ₹4,000 crore, marking a significant leap in India’s vision for “Viksit Bharat 2047.”

Held under the theme of Education for Transformation, the Shiksha Samagam brought together policymakers, education ministers from 13 states/UTs, academicians, heads of premier institutions like IITs, NITs, KVs, NVS, CBSE officials, startup leaders, and school students.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several key education infrastructure projects across the country. Among the major developments were the inauguration of the new CBSE Regional Office in Patna and 12 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) hostels and staff quarters spread across Gujarat, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh. Additionally, seven new Kendriya Vidyalayas were inaugurated, including the ITBP Shivgangai and KV Bhimtal campuses. Pradhan also laid the foundation stone for the new NCERT headquarters administrative building and the Regional Institute of Education at Nellore.

Under the centrally sponsored schemes PM JANMAN and DAJGUA, the event also marked the laying of foundation stones for 384 hostels in tribal-majority regions—75 under PM JANMAN and 309 under DAJGUA—at a combined cost of over ₹1,377 crore. These hostels are expected to benefit nearly 1.1 million Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) students by providing them with inclusive and holistic learning environments.

In line with India’s digital-first vision in education, several innovative tools and initiatives were launched. These include the TARA App, an AI-powered platform to assess reading fluency among students in Grades 3 to 8, and the My Career Advisor App, a personalized guidance tool offering over 1,000 career pathways for school students. Furthermore, the Swachh Evam Harit Vidyalaya Rating (SHVR) 2025–26 was introduced to evaluate hygiene and sustainability standards in schools across the country.

At the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam 2025, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is not merely a policy but the soul of Viksit Bharat 2047. He highlighted Indian ethos, innovation, multilingualism, and inclusion as the foundational pillars of NEP 2020 and urged all stakeholders to transform classrooms into hubs of creativity and nation-building. In a special gesture, Dr. K. Kasturirangan, the chief architect of NEP 2020, was honored with floral tributes. A short film capturing the transformative journey of NEP 2020 was showcased, while thematic stalls such as Prerana (Experiential Learning), Atal Tinkering Labs, and ULLAS drew significant attention. In line with NEP’s internationalization goals, several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with foreign universities for setting up India-based campuses.

The Shiksha Samagam concluded with four focused sessions covering the promotion of Bharatiya Bhasha in education, strengthening the PM Research Fellows Programme, achieving 100% Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) in secondary education by 2030, and leveraging Artificial Intelligence in teaching and learning.
