In a rare and humble public appearance, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of the UAE, was seen traveling on a crowded tram, a moment captured on video and now going viral across social media platforms.
The video, originally shared on TikTok and reshared by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Instagram, shows the royal standing at a tram station before boarding a coach filled with daily commuters. Despite his prominent position, Sheikh Mohammed blended in with the crowd, sitting quietly without attracting much attention.
An Instagram user, claiming the video was taken by a Dubai resident, noted that the royal was on his way home from work. The footage highlights his approachable demeanor and simplicity, earning admiration from viewers globally.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Sheikh Mohammed has chosen public transport. In 2023, the RTA posted another clip of him aboard the Dubai Metro, calmly enjoying the ride and scenery.
Born in 1949, Sheikh Mohammed has held several key positions over the decades, including Minister of Defence since 1971 and Crown Prince of Dubai from 1995 until becoming ruler in 2006. Known for his leadership, poetry, and passion for equestrianism, the royal’s latest public transport outing underscores his reputation as a grounded and forward-thinking leader.
