An emotional homecoming in Jind’s Julana, as Delhi CM Rekha Gupta celebrates her 51st birthday with a nostalgic return to Nandgarh village. Haryana CM Nayab Saini joins the occasion, announcing ₹16.8 crore worth of projects.

JULANA, JIND (Haryana)- In a rare and heartwarming political moment, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta returned to her native village Nandgarh in Haryana’s Julana constituency to mark her 51st birthday. This emotional homecoming also turned into a celebration of public service, as Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini joined her and announced ₹16.8 crore worth of development projects as a gift to the region.

This visit marked Rekha Gupta’s first trip to her ancestral village after taking office as Delhi’s Chief Minister, making the occasion all the more symbolic. The village witnessed an electrifying atmosphere as locals gathered in huge numbers to welcome their daughter who rose to become a state leader.

A grand felicitation ceremony was held at the village sports ground, where CM Rekha Gupta was greeted with heartfelt affection by villagers. Overwhelmed by the emotional reception, she said,

“It’s been 48 years since I came to my village. Returning here on my birthday, to my roots, fills me with joy beyond words. In Sawan, daughters coming home is considered auspicious — this birthday and TEEJ have become unforgettable.”

She thanked CM Nayab Saini for inspiring the idea of celebrating her birthday in Nandgarh and making it meaningful through public welfare.

“The projects gifted today are not just development plans — they are blessings for my village. I’m committed to serving both my karmabhoomi Delhi and janmbhoomi Haryana with equal dedication,” she added.

Rekha Gupta also extended her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, crediting him for giving her the responsibility of leading Delhi and inspiring her journey.

“My story proves that with opportunity, even girls from villages can lead states. This day is not just about me — it’s an inspiration for every woman and daughter in Nandgarh and beyond.”

In a ceremonial gesture, CM Nayab Saini presented her with a traditional ‘Sawan ki Kothli’ and inaugurated eight major development projects totaling ₹16.8 crore for Nandgarh and Julana. These include infrastructure enhancements, community facilities, and educational upgrades.

CM Saini praised Rekha Gupta as a daughter of Haryana who has become a symbol of hard work and perseverance.

“Her rise from a humble background to the Chief Minister’s chair is a shining example of what dedication can achieve,” he said.

As the leaders arrived, streets were lined with villagers, rooftops were filled with cheering residents, and local women welcomed CM Rekha Gupta with folk songs, traditional aarti, swings, and sweets like ghevar, celebrating her like a true daughter of the soil.

Earlier in the day, both CMs inaugurated the newly built Aggarwal Dharamshala in Julana and participated in a symbolic tree plantation under the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign launched by PM Modi. CM Rekha Gupta urged everyone to plant and protect trees as a tribute to their mothers.

The celebratory visit was graced by several dignitaries, including Haryana Assembly Deputy Speaker Dr. Krishan Lal Middha, Cabinet Minister Krishan Bedi, BJP State President Mohan Lal Badoli, local MLAs, and other prominent leaders.

This unique blend of personal celebration and public welfare has made Rekha Gupta’s birthday a model of emotional connect, leadership humility, and development-first politics.
