New Delhi | July 12, 2025 — In a significant step toward integrating traditional wisdom with modern surgical advancements, the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi, is set to organize a high-profile national seminar titled ‘Shalyacon 2025’, scheduled from 13th to 15th July 2025, to commemorate Sushruta Jayanti — a day honoring the legendary Acharya Sushruta, regarded as the Father of Surgery.
The academic event will unfold under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Badwe, Head of the Department of Shalya Tantra, AIIA, in collaboration with the National Sushruta Association, marking the 25th Annual Conference of the Association. Over 500 experts from across India and abroad — including Ayurvedic surgeons, researchers, and scholars — are expected to participate.
The inaugural ceremony on July 14 will be presided over by Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhav, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Ayush. Other dignitaries expected to attend include Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush; Prof. Sanjeev Sharma, Vice Chancellor, National Institute of Ayurveda (Jaipur); and Prof. (Dr.) Tanuja Nesari, Director, ITRA (Jamnagar).
