Faridabad, February 11: To promote health awareness and encourage fitness among people, Accord Hospital and Faridabad Triathlon Club (FTC) are jointly organizing the Accord Faridabad Half Marathon on February 16. The announcement was made at a press conference held at Accord Hospital, Sector 86, Faridabad, in the presence of senior doctors and hospital officials. The marathon is expected to witness participation from runners across the country, including administrative officers and prominent doctors from Delhi-NCR. Haryana’s Minister of Sports, Gaurav Gautam, and Minister of Food and Supplies, Rajesh Nagar, will be present as chief guests for the event.
The marathon has been designed to accommodate participants of different age groups and fitness levels. It includes multiple race categories such as a 21.1 km Half Marathon for professional and experienced runners, a 10 km run for fitness enthusiasts, a 5 km Fun Run for general participants and families, and a 3 km Family Fitness Run aimed at encouraging children and families to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, a special 1 km Bravo Walk has been included for individuals currently undergoing medical treatment, allowing them to be part of this inspiring event.
Speaking at the press conference, Dr. Rishi Gupta, Chairman of Accord Hospital, emphasized that the marathon is not just about competition but about inspiring people to incorporate regular exercise and a healthy routine into their lives. Dr. Yuvraj Kumar, Chairman of the Orthopedic and Joint Replacement Department, highlighted the significance of such events in assessing personal fitness and committing to a healthier future. Senior surgeon Dr. Prabal Roy and Nephrology Department Chairman Dr. Jitendra Kumar highlighted that this marathon is not just about running but a step towards a healthier life.
