New Delhi 22nd July 2024 : The Delhi government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, is gearing up to host Kanwariyas in a grand manner across the city. Revenue Minister Atishi announced today that 185 Kanwar camps will be established throughout Delhi, ensuring top-notch facilities for devotees during the holy month of Sawan.
Each of these camps will be equipped with high-quality waterproof tents, medical facilities, clean water, toilets, and furniture to accommodate the pilgrims. Atishi emphasized the government’s commitment to providing a comfortable experience for the Kanwariyas, who are expected to start arriving from July 25 onwards.
Key entry-exit points for Kanwariyas in Delhi include East Delhi, North East Delhi, and Shahdara districts, where the majority of camps are being set up to facilitate easy access and management of the pilgrim crowds.
“The holy month of Sawan has commenced today, and we are fully prepared to welcome Kanwariyas from all parts of the country,” said Revenue Minister Atishi. “Our focus is on ensuring that every pilgrim receives the best possible facilities during their stay in Delhi.”
She further elaborated, “The Kejriwal government has meticulously planned the setup of 185 Kanwar camps this year, with significant clusters in East Delhi, North East Delhi, and Shahdara districts to handle the large influx of Kanwariyas.”
Atishi highlighted the extensive preparations undertaken by the Revenue Department since June, under regular supervision by herself and senior officials. The camps are expected to be fully operational within the next 2-3 days, well in time for the anticipated arrival of up to 15-20 lakhs Kanwariyas passing through Delhi.
In conclusion, Revenue Minister Atishi urged the residents of Delhi to actively participate in this religious endeavor, extending their cooperation and assistance to the Kanwariyas wherever needed.
