New Delhi, 22 March 2025- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced during a press conference at the Secretariat today that over 10,000 suggestions and expectations have been received from Delhi citizens via WhatsApp and email for the “Viksit Delhi Budget 2025.” She informed that Consultations for the ‘Viksit Delhi Budget‘ involved a diverse group, including women, educators, traders, industrial organizations, farmers, MLAs, MPs, youth, doctors, chartered accountants, municipal councilors, government employees, slum residents and influencers. On this occasion, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the active participation of the citizens of Delhi and the valuable suggestions sent by them.
CM Smt. Rekha Gupta said, “This budget will truly be the people’s budget. The feedback and ideas from the public have made it clear that they are with the government in its mission to make Delhi a world-class capital.”
CM Smt. Rekha Gupta said that since the formation of the government, our only goal is to work towards making Delhi into a modernised and developed city. The Delhi government’s Viksit Delhi Sankalp Patra promises to make Delhi the best capital in the world while improving the lives of women, the poor, students, youth, and workers.The budget session is scheduled for March 24 to March 28, 2025. The government had appealed to the people of Delhi to give suggestions through email and WhatsApp to prepare the draft of ‘Viksit Delhi Budget 2025’. In which 3303 suggestions have been received from the people of Delhi through email and 6982 suggestions and expectations through WhatsApp. In total, more than 10,000 suggestions have been shared by the people of Delhi through email and WhatsApp.The primary focus areas of these suggestions were economic development of women, cleaning of Yamuna, education, health, environmental protection, pollution control and employment. “
CM Smt. Rekha Gupta emphasized that the goal of public consultation was to ensure no section of Delhi’s population is left behind. The government has made an effort to engage with residents through technology and direct interaction.
CM Smt. Rekha Gupta thanked Delhi residents for their overwhelming participation and assured them that their suggestions would be given priority in the budget. She said, “The feedback we have received proves that this will truly be a people’s budget. We have received positive responses through email, WhatsApp, and public dialogues, and this budget will reflect the needs and aspirations of Delhi’s citizens.The suggestions received from the people of Delhi will be given priority in the developed Delhi budget and its format is being prepared keeping in mind the needs and aspirations of the people of Delhi. In this budget, priority will be given to the common citizen of Delhi, which will especially include economic empowerment of women, smooth supply of electricity and water, solution to the problem of water logging during rains, control on air pollution, cleaning of Yamuna, expansion of education, better health facilities, development of infrastructure and employment opportunities”.
Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta reiterated “The government is working on every aspect to fulfill the dream of developed Delhi of respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. And this budget session will start with the development of Delhi and the sweetness of kheer. On Monday, people associated with the Viksit Delhi budget dialogue will be invited in the assembly premises and the budget session will be started by sweetening their mouths with the kheer ceremony. Every suggestion is invaluable, and the government’s aim is to make this budget a cornerstone for a clean, prosperous, and world-class Delhi.This budget will strengthen our mission to make Delhi a global capital, ensuring growth, sustainability, and improved quality of life for every resident.”
