Railways’ Robust Healthcare response at Kumbh 2025: Over 1.92 Lakh Pilgrims receive Medical Attention

17,977 patients were attended so far by Railways at Kumbh

New Delhi, February 21, 2025-  The Indian Railways has implemented a comprehensive healthcare response to manage the massive influx of pilgrims at the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. With a surge in travelers, the North Central Railway (NCR) has strengthened its medical infrastructure across four key railway stations to ensure the safety and well-being of attendees.

Extensive Medical Arrangements at Stations

To cater to the healthcare needs of the pilgrims, the Railways has set up highly equipped observation rooms, first-aid booths, and emergency response services. The key provisions include:

  • Observation Rooms: 4 dedicated and well-equipped medical observation rooms
  • First Aid Booths: 30 booths stationed across platforms and enclosures
  • Medical Personnel:
    • 60 doctors deployed for patient care
    • 170 paramedical staff assisting medical operations
  • Ambulance Services: 12 ambulances strategically positioned for emergency transport

Patient Care: Over 1.92 Lakh Treated So Far

The large-scale medical arrangements have already facilitated treatment for 1,92,570 patients from January 11 to February 21 (morning). Of these, 17,977 patients were specifically attended to in observation rooms for further monitoring and care.

These efforts underscore the Railways’ commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy environment for millions of devotees and travelers attending the Maha Kumbh 2025.
