World Food India 2024 Kicks Off Today in New Delhi

New Delhi : World Food India 2024, a prominent four-day event in the food processing sector, commences today at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The event, set to be a major convergence of innovation, technology, and sustainability, will feature participation from over 90 countries, 26 Indian States and Union Territories, and 18 Central Ministries and allied government bodies. The inauguration will be attended by key figures, including Food and Public Distribution Minister Prahlad Joshi, Food Processing Industries Minister Chirag Paswan, and Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Ravneet Singh Bittu.

Japan is the partner country for this year’s World Food India, with Vietnam and Iran highlighted as focus countries. The first day of the event will include a high-level CEO roundtable co-chaired by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Food Processing Industries Minister Chirag Paswan. This roundtable will set the tone for the discussions and collaborations to follow.

The event is designed to be a comprehensive platform for industry leaders, featuring over 40 knowledge sessions. These will include thematic discussions, state and country-specific conferences, and industry-led panel discussions involving more than 100 CXOs from global agri-food companies. One of the key highlights will be the Reverse Buyer Seller Meet, organized by APEDA, MPEDA, and various commodity boards, which is expected to attract over a thousand buyers.

Additionally, the 2nd edition of the Global Food Regulators Summit, hosted by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), will run concurrently with World Food India, focusing on global food safety standards and regulations.

To enhance the event’s appeal and engagement, the organizers have introduced the “Swaad Sutra” culinary contest. This contest will showcase a diverse range of regional dishes from across India, celebrating the country’s rich culinary heritage and offering a platform for regional cuisines to gain national and international recognition.

World Food India 2024 aims to be a landmark event, fostering collaborations, sharing innovative solutions, and addressing sustainability challenges within the food processing sector. The convergence of global and local stakeholders at this event is expected to drive significant advancements and opportunities for growth in the industry.
