Nigeria: At least 18 people killed, 48 others injured in bomb blasts in Borno

At least 18 people were killed and 48 others were injured in bomb blasts in Borno state, Nigeria. According to CNN, the state’s emergency services reported the following:

  • The first explosion happened at a wedding ceremony around 3 pm on Saturday.
  • The second explosion occurred at General Hospital Gwoza.
  • The third explosion took place at a funeral.

The Director General of the Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Barkindo Muhammad Saidu, visited the site of the incidents in Gwoza Town. Both men, women, and children were among those who died. There are no further details about the incident.
