LUCKNOW, 15 March 2025: Holi celebrations across Uttar Pradesh remained peaceful, with people from diverse communities coming together to embrace the festival of colors. A remarkable display of interfaith harmony was witnessed in Barabanki, where individuals from different religious backgrounds participated in the joyous occasion.
In some regions, festivities took place under heightened security measures due to Holi coinciding with the second Friday prayers of Ramzan, the sacred Islamic month of fasting. Authorities ensured smooth conduct, allowing both festivals to be observed without disruptions.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath marked the occasion in his signature style by applying ‘gulal’ (colored powder) to cows and calves at the Gorakhnath temple’s cow shelter. Dressed in his iconic saffron robes, a vibrant multicolored turban, and stylish black sunglasses, the chief minister actively engaged in the festivities. He also showered flower petals and ‘gulal’ on devotees and participants during a grand Holi procession, adding to the fervor of the celebrations.
The festival saw enthusiastic participation across cities and towns, with people smearing colors, exchanging sweets, and enjoying traditional music and dance. In Barabanki, the historic dargah became a center of communal harmony, as individuals from Hindu and Muslim communities came together to celebrate, reinforcing the spirit of unity and brotherhood.
Security personnel remained vigilant to ensure public safety, yet the festivities unfolded without any major incidents, reflecting the spirit of peace and coexistence. The successful celebration of Holi across Uttar Pradesh, particularly the symbolic togetherness in Barabanki, highlighted the state’s rich tradition of cultural inclusivity.
