Monitoring the ticket sales on hourly basis, Railway operated 5 Unreserved trains to Prayag from NDLS on Saturday evening

 Indian Railways is making constant efforts to provide convenient travel options for pilgrims visiting the Mahakumbh.

New Delhi, 23 Feb 2025 – During the evening hours on Saturday, Railway operated 5 Unreserved trains to Prayag from the New Delhi station, catering to the surge in crowds for the weekend. Continuous monitoring of ticket sales and crowd is being done at the highest level. Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Railways was monitoring the situation from War room, Railway Board while Shri Ashok Kumar Verma, General Manager Northern Railway was keeping an eye from mini control room at New Delhi Station.

On saturday, during the evening hours, ticket sales for Prayagraj were higher than the normal.
From 1800 hrs to 1900 hrs, 2375 tickets were sold for Prayagraj.Considering the demand, Unreserved trains for Prayag were operated on an hourly basis.
Train No. 0470 departed at 1900 hrs.

From 1900 hrs to 2000 hrs, 2950 tickets were sold. Train No. 04074 departed at 2000 hrs.

From 2000 hrs to 2100 hrs, 3429 tickets were sold, Train 04080 departed at 2058 hrs.

From 2100 hrs to 2200 hrs, 2662 tickets were sold, 04082 departed at 2158 hrs.

From 2200 hrs to 2300 hrs, 1689 tickets were sold, Train 04084 departed at 2315 hrs.

Mahakumbh: The increased train service was in response to the large number of pilgrims traveling to Prayag for the Mahakumbh 2025
