Faridabad, February 22 – Union Minister of State Krishan Pal Gurjar confidently stated that the BJP will win all 46 seats in the Faridabad Municipal Corporation elections. He emphasized that the party is poised to set new records in Haryana’s urban local body elections, following its recent success in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. He made these remarks while addressing a press conference at BJP’s Mayor election office in Sector 11, Faridabad. The Minister criticized the Congress for already acknowledging defeat in the upcoming elections, noting their inability to find prominent candidates. He pointed out that Congress had failed to generate enthusiasm or make its presence felt in the elections.
He revealed that several potential Congress candidates, including the daughter-in-law of former Deputy Mayor Rajender Bhambla and the son of former Mayor Ashok Arora, declined to run under the party’s banner. Consequently, Congress managed to field candidates in only 38 out of 46 wards in Faridabad. The Union Minister also dismissed the Aam Aadmi Party’s chances in Haryana, stating that their impact was minimal, as they were only contesting in 18 wards. He also urged voters to be cautious during the elections, explaining that voting for Mayor and Ward Councillor (Parshad) will take place on two separate EVMs.
He advised the public to ensure they cast their votes correctly on both machines. Earlier, the new election office for BJP’s Mayor candidate Praveen Batra Joshi was inaugurated in Sector 11, Faridabad. Former Cabinet Minister Moolchand Sharma, former MLA Narendra Gupta, and District President Rajkumar Wohra were present to inaugurate the office by cutting the ribbon and distributing prasad. Following the inauguration, a strategic meeting was held with BJP’s 46 ward councillor candidates, where election strategies and management were discussed. The meeting was attended by prominent BJP leaders including National Council Member Sandeep Joshi, District President Rajkumar Wohra, former District President Gopal Sharma, District Incharge Narendra Vats, and others.
The press conference also saw the attendance of Haryana Government’s Revenue and Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel, Food Minister Rajesh Nagar, Mayor Candidate Praveen Batra Joshi, MLAs Dhanesh Adlakha and Satish Fagna, former Education Minister Seema Trikha, Discipline Committee State President Neera Tomar, Media Advisor to the Haryana Chief Minister Rajeev Jaitly, and others.
