Grand Celebrations Mark Ayodhya Ram Mandir’s First Anniversary of Pran-Pratishtha Ceremony

Uttar Pradesh, January 22, 2025: Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, is immersed in celebration and devotion as it marks the first anniversary of Ram Lalla’s pran pratistha at the iconic Ram Mandir on Wednesday, January 22. The sacred ceremony, conducted a year ago on January 22, 2024, was led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and remains a historic moment for devotees worldwide.

A devotee from Hyderabad shared that his family had been planning their trip to Ayodhya for three months. “Before coming here, we visited Prayagraj and took a holy dip during the Maha Kumbh. It’s incredible to witness the fruition of 500 years of struggle. The arrangements, from the queue system to security and the temple’s ambiance, are commendable,” he said.

Another devotee from Rajasthan added, “We are here to celebrate Ram Lalla’s blessings. It feels like a privilege to be part of this moment. Many worked tirelessly to make this dream of establishing Ram Lalla in Ayodhya a reality.”

Interestingly, the first anniversary of the Ram temple was officially observed earlier, on January 11, following an announcement by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The Trust, after consulting with saints and adhering to Hindu traditions based on the Panchang, decided that the Pran Pratishtha of Prabhu Shri Ram Lalla Sarkar will be commemorated annually on ‘Paush Shukla Dwadashi,’ now referred to as Pratishtha Dwadashi.

The three-day festivities included the ceremonial installation of the Ram Darbar on the temple’s first floor. This area now houses stunning 4.5-foot-tall marble idols of Lord Ram, Mata Sita, Lord Hanuman, and Lord Ram’s brothers Bharat, Lakshman, and Shatrughan. Speaking about the arrangements, Anil Mishra, a member of the Trust, stated, “Ram Lalla resides in the sanctum-sanctorum on the ground floor, while the first floor is dedicated to the Ram Darbar.”

Uttar Pradesh Minister Jaiveer Singh hailed the day as “historic,” emphasizing the significance of Ram Lalla being enthroned in Ayodhya after centuries of struggle and sacrifice. “Today, we also witness the world’s largest spiritual congregation at the Mahakumbh. It is through divine blessings that we are part of such a monumental occasion,” he remarked.

The Ram Mandir has drawn massive crowds since the Mahakumbh Mela 2025 began on January 13. The temple is gearing up for an even greater influx of devotees as the Shahi Snan on Mauni Amavasya approaches on January 29. The Mahakumbh festivities will culminate with Maha Shivaratri on February 26.

As Ayodhya continues to host devotees from all corners of the country, the celebrations symbolize not just religious devotion but also the cultural and spiritual unity of India. The temple’s first anniversary has reaffirmed its significance as a beacon of faith, perseverance, and collective reverence.
