Chhattisgarh to become Naxal-free by 2026

Ranchi, December 4 – Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai made his vow to rid Chhattisgarh of Naxals by March 2026 clear. Speaking about some recent accomplishments, he praised security forces’ efforts to restore the much-needed order in areas of concern such as Bastar, to improve the situation of law and order in that particular area.

Underlining the progress, Sai revealed that over 210 Naxalites have been neutralized in recent operations, reflecting the efficacy of sustained anti-Naxal campaigns. “Our commitment to restoring peace in Chhattisgarh remains unwavering, and the strides we’ve made are a testament to the dedication of our security personnel,” he said.

In a bid to ensure that the momentum continues, CM Sai will be meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday to discuss updates on initiatives being taken against Naxalites and assess the implementation of central schemes in the state. Shah will visit Chhattisgarh on December 13 and 14 and take forward the collaboration between the central and state authorities.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the collective effort of the state and central governments is crucial in accomplishing the common goal of Naxalism’s complete elimination. Sai remains hopeful that the deadline of 2026 can be met, pointing to the government’s intent on making Chhattisgarh’s affected regions witness a more durable peace and development.
