The Impressive TimesSonipat, 05 June 2024 : Rai, Haryana, the Sports University of Haryana, a distinguished state government institution recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) and a proud member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), has officially opened online applications for the 2024-25 academic session. Located in Rai, the university is dedicated to becoming a premier center for physical education, sports technology, sports coaching, and sports sciences.
Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP-2020), the Sports University of Haryana aims to promote advanced research, knowledge sharing, and the development of academic and training programs in specialized sports fields. Our ultimate objective is to enhance the sports ecosystem in Haryana and position India as a leading nation in the global sports arena.
Programs Offered:
Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports (BPES) (4 years) – Regular/Face to Face Mode, 50 Seats
Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports (BPES) (4 years) – Hybrid Mode for active athletes in National Camps, etc., 50 Seats
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Sports Science (4 years), 50 Seats
Master of Physical Education and Sports (MPES) (2 years), 30 Seats
PhD in Physical Education, 3 Seats (may increase subject to the availability of supervisors)
PG Diploma in Sports Coaching (PGDSC) (Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Handball, Kabaddi, Lawn-Tennis, Volleyball, Wrestling, Yoga) (1 year), 25 Seats per diploma
PG Diploma in Sports Sciences (Sports Psychology, Sports Nutrition, Sports Physiotherapy, Strength and Conditioning, Sports Journalism) (1 year), 20 Seats per diploma
The bachelor’s programs will follow NEP-2020 guidelines, offering multiple entry and exit options. Students completing 2, 4, 6, or 8 semesters will be awarded a certificate, diploma, degree, or degree with honours or research, respectively.
To support talented athletes, the university will be offering fee concessions and scholarship schemes to national medalist students, further encouraging excellence in sports.
Online registration for these programs will be available till June 21, 2024. Admission will be based on the eligibility criteria outlined in the university’s 2024-25 prospectus. The application processing fee is set at Rs. 500 for General Category applicants and Rs. 125 for SC/BC/PwBD candidates from Haryana. The prospectus can be downloaded for free from the university’s website, www.suoh.ac.in, where application forms can also be completed.
