Delhi Police Bust ₹16 Crore Cyber Fraud Network Linked to Shell Company in Job Scam Case

Delhi Police Bust ₹16 Crore Cyber Fraud Racket, Two Directors of Fake Firm Arrested

New Delhi, April 27, 2026: Delhi Police have arrested two individuals allegedly involved in a large-scale cyber fraud racket linked to a fake trading company that received over ₹16 crore within just eight days.

The accused, identified as Sonu Kumar and Aminder Singh, were reportedly acting as dummy directors of a private limited firm used to route and launder money obtained through job scams and OTP-based frauds. Police said the company functioned as a shell entity and was part of a wider financial crime network.

According to officials, the case came to light after suspicious bank transactions were flagged on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. Investigators traced a bank account linked to the firm at a nationalised bank in Bawana, which had connections to more than 300 cyber fraud complaints across different states.

Authorities revealed that the account was being operated by multiple users and was used to rapidly collect and transfer large sums of money. Most of the ₹16 crore deposited was withdrawn within days, indicating an organised money laundering operation designed to erase transaction trails.

Police also suspect links to over 35 shell companies allegedly used for layering funds and diverting proceeds of crime through multiple channels. Investigators believe the network has handlers operating outside Delhi as well.

Officials said the accused were arrested on Friday, and further investigation is underway to identify other members of the syndicate and dismantle the wider fraud ecosystem.

Police have intensified efforts to track digital money trails and prevent similar cyber fraud operations targeting job seekers and bank customers across the country.
