Chilean Foreign Minister Begins Week Long India Tour to Deepen Strategic and Economic Partnership

High level meetings and business engagements aim to expand cooperation in trade, technology, and investment

New Delhi, May 10, 2026: Chile’s Foreign Affairs Minister Francisco Perez Mackenna arrived in India on Saturday for an extensive seven day diplomatic mission focused on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring fresh opportunities for collaboration between the two nations.

During the visit, Mackenna is expected to hold significant discussions with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and other senior government representatives to strengthen cooperation across trade, investment, innovation, and technological sectors.

The official itinerary also includes participation in prominent business forums and industry summits in New Delhi, where the Chilean delegation will interact with leading Indian business communities to encourage stronger commercial engagement.

Mackenna is further scheduled to visit Bengaluru, where discussions with Karnataka officials are expected to focus on innovation, information technology, and biotechnology partnerships.

The visit reflects growing momentum in India Chile relations, following sustained diplomatic engagement and shared interests in economic growth, strategic cooperation, and global issues.
