May 8, 2025- The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to announce the Class 10 and Class 12 exam results for 2025 this week. Students who appeared for the exams can check their results on the official CBSE result portals: cbseresults.nic.in, cbse.gov.in, and results.cbse.nic.in. The results will also be available on results.digilocker.gov.in and the UMANG app.

In 2024, the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 results were announced on May 13, for exams conducted from February 15 to March 13. Historically, the board has released the results in May, with the Class 10 results for 2023 being announced on May 12, and for 2019 on May 6. However, due to the pandemic, results in 2022, 2021, and 2020 were delayed and announced later in the year.

The CBSE exams for 2025 were conducted from February 15 to March 13, and students can expect their results soon.

The pass percentage in recent years has seen some variations:

  • 2024: Class 10 – 93.60%; Class 12 – 87.98%
  • 2023: Class 10 – 93.12%; Class 12 – 87.33%
  • 2022: Class 10 – 94.40%; Class 12 – 92.71%
  • 2021: Class 10 – 99.04%; Class 12 – 99.37%
  • 2020: Class 10 – 91.46%; Class 12 – 88.78%

This year, CBSE has introduced a six-digit access code for students to activate their Digilocker accounts. Once activated, students will be able to access their Digital Academic Documents under the “Issued Documents” section. Schools can download the student-wise access code file from their Digilocker accounts and provide the access code to each student.

Additionally, CBSE has revised its grievance redressal process for result-related issues. Students must now first request a photocopy of their evaluated answer book before applying for mark verification or re-evaluation. This change marks a departure from the previous procedure, where students would apply for mark verification first, followed by obtaining the answer sheet for re-evaluation.

To pass the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 exams, students must secure a minimum of 33% marks in each subject, including both theory and practical components. In subjects with practical exams, students must score at least 33% in both theory and practical exams separately. Additionally, students must achieve an overall aggregate of 33% across all subjects to pass.
