Ajit Doval leads the US-India ICET meeting and outlines his goals for a partnership in strategic technology

The U.S.-India initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET) had its second meeting in New Delhi, with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval chairing the conference alongside U.S. counterpart Jake Sullivan. Mr. Doval and Mr. Sullivan outlined the goals for the upcoming phase of the strategic technology collaboration during yesterday’s second iCET meeting.

According to the White House, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to centering their cooperation around ground-breaking accomplishments in urgently needed and developing technology areas. They will do this by emphasizing opportunities for co-production, co-development, and research and development, as well as strengthening ties with other like-minded countries to better coordinate the delivery of safe, dependable, and reasonably priced technology solutions to partners and citizens of the United States and India. They greeted the U.S.-India-ROK Trilateral Technology Dialogue’s first summit, which took place in Seoul in March and continued collaboration via the Quad with Australia and Japan.

Additionally, the two nations emphasized how crucial it is to modify technology protection toolkits and made a commitment to stop sensitive and dual-use technology from leaking to nations of concern.

As the US and India mobilize private sector investment and collaborations across vital technological industries, APNSA Sullivan and NSA Doval also organized an industry roundtable that brought together CEOs and thought leaders from both nations in addition to the iCET summit. The two National Security Advisors decided to back more cooperation between the public and private sectors as well as between academia and industry.
