New Delhi, 28 November 23 – Haryana has been honored with a silver medal in the ‘Swachh Pavilion’ (State) category for its outstanding display at the 42nd India International Trade Fair 2023 held at Pragati Maidan in Delhi. The fair was organised from November 14 to 27 at the Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan. The silver medal in the Swachh Pavilion category was presented to Haryana during the closing ceremony by Mr. Pradeep Singh Kharola, Chairman and Managing Director of the Indian Trade Promotion Organization, constituted under the aiges of Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of India. The award was received by Mr. Anil Chaudhary, the General Manager of the Trade Fair Authority of Haryana(TFAH).
Haryana Pavilion propagates further the Message of Swachh Bharat Campaign
This year, the Haryana Pavilion remained centre of attraction for the visitors at the IITF Delhi. The pavilion showcased the prosperity, cultural heritage, achievements, and modern technological advancements of the fast progressing state Haryana. Spanning over approximately 600 square meters, the pavilion had 51 stalls, demonstrating the products made in the state properly, along with a strong emphasis on cleanliness. Haryana has been successfully propagating the message of the Union government’s ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan,’ and this commitment was evident in the Haryana Pavilion as well. Influenced by this, the jury selected the Haryana Pavilion for the Swachh Award among state pavilions and the award was presented during the closing ceremony on Monday evening.

The messages of the Governor of Haryana, Sh Bandaru Dattatreya, and Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal, were prominently displayed in the pavilion, depicting the vision of the state government. Over the past 9 years, Haryana has witnessed a digital and Industrial Revolution, which was appropriately shown with help of digital presentations. The demonstration of the government’s start-up policy could be seen through various products, especially, the e-Cycle developed by a young budding entrepreneur of the state, remained a center of attraction. Additionally, stalls from different parts of the state, such as HAFED and VITA, drew visitors to showcase products manufactured in the state while also focusing on cleanliness. How one can make use of waste material like defective mobile charger wires, broken tapes other similar items in making eco-friendly images or pictures was also shown. A live demonstration of it was also being given in one of the stalls.
Journey of Trade from the Indus Valley Civilisation to the Present Times Highlighted
While showcasing the cultural heritage of the state, it was also demonstrated that Haryana has been a major center of trade for thousands of years. Visitors were deeply impressed by the culture and tradition of the state. Right at the entrance, the traditional Chaupal prevalent in the rural areas of Haryana was featured , where villagers were shown in sitting together in group under a tree, and preparing outlines for the development of their village. Additionally, evidence related to the Indus Valley Civilization, dating back over 7,000 years, found in Rakhigarhi of Hisar district, indicated that people in this region have been engaged in trade since ancient times. While showcasing the progress of the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal over the last 9 years, the current state government has promoted trade by implementing ‘business-friendly’ policies. As a result, Haryana has become the first choice for foreign investors. The state’s policies promoting business and trade were specifically displayed in the Haryana Pavilion, which got due recognition at the India International Trade fair Delhi.
