Haryana to Equip Civil Hospitals with Advanced Ultrasound Machines: Aarti Singh Rao

Health Minister says upgraded diagnostic facilities will help rural patients access timely services without relying on costly private centres

Dharuhera, September 16, 2026: Haryana Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao on Wednesday said the state government has approved the purchase of advanced ultrasound machines for civil hospitals as part of efforts to strengthen diagnostic facilities in government healthcare centres.

Rao said the move would improve access to timely and accurate diagnostic services, particularly for people living in rural and remote areas. The upgraded facilities are also intended to reduce patients’ dependence on private diagnostic centres and the expenses associated with investigations.

The Health Minister was speaking at a function in Maheshwari village, where she inaugurated development works involving the construction of a road and drainage system at a cost of ₹40 lakh.

Rao said modern diagnostic equipment at government hospitals would enable patients to undergo necessary investigations closer to their homes. She added that strengthening diagnostic infrastructure was an important part of the government’s efforts to improve the quality and accessibility of public healthcare.

“Modern diagnostic facilities at government hospitals are essential for timely detection of diseases and appropriate treatment. The objective is to ensure that people do not have to travel long distances or spend heavily at private centres for basic diagnostic services,” she said.

The minister said the state government was working to modernise government hospitals and expand the medical infrastructure available to the public. The installation of advanced ultrasound machines at civil hospitals would particularly support patients requiring diagnostic imaging services, she added.

During her visit, Rao also attended the programme marking the inauguration of the village development projects. Residents of Maheshwari and neighbouring villages accorded her a traditional welcome with flowers, turbans and shawls.

Block chairman Dalbir, Dharuhera Municipal Committee chairman Ajay Jangid, Cooperative Bank chairman Ajay Patoda, sarpanch Meenakshi, Malkhan Tanwar of Malpura and Pradeep alias Maujam were among those present. The programme was conducted by Dinesh Yadav.
