2,366 Units of Blood Donated at Manav Rachna Educational Institutions’ Mega Camp

Faridabad-  A total of 2,366 units of blood were collected during a mega blood donation camp organized to mark the 13th remembrance day of Dr O.P. Bhalla, the founder of Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI). The collected blood was distributed to the Rotary Blood Centre, Santon Ka Gurudwara Blood Bank, ESI Hospital, and Badshah Khan Hospital to support patients in need.

The event, held on Wednesday at the Manav Rachna campus on Surajkund Road, commenced in the morning with a floral tribute to the statue of the late Dr O.P. Bhalla. Tributes were paid by MREI President Dr Prashant Bhalla, Vice President Dr Amit Bhalla, School Directors Deepika Bhalla and Nisha Bhalla, Dr O.P. Bhalla Foundation Vice Chairman Dr N.C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellors Dr Sanjay Srivastava and Dr Deependra Kumar Jha, Sports Director Sarkar Talwar, R.K. Bansal, Sunny Bansal, Registrars Monika Khurana and Sanjay Mishra, Pro-Vice Chancellors Dr Pradeep Kumar, Dr Naresh Grover, Dr Sangeeta Banga, Giriraj Dhingra, B.R. Bhatia, S.S. Banga, B.S. Kaliraman, among others. Following this, students from Manav Rachna International School, Charmwood, offered a musical tribute through devotional bhajans. The institution’s President then performed a havan (sacred ritual) to pray for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the entire Manav Rachna family founded under Dr O.P. Bhalla’s vision.

The Chief Guest of the event, Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj (Founder of GIEO Gita), along with Special Guest Shri Krishna Singhal (Regional Contacts Chief of RSS), MREI President Dr Prashant Bhalla, and Dr Amit Bhalla inaugurated the blood donation and free health check-up camp. The camp was organized under the guidance of Dr N.C. Wadhwa, Vice Chairman of the Dr O.P. Bhalla Foundation. The guests actively encouraged and motivated the donors, resulting in the collection of over 2,366 units of blood.

In his address, Swami Gyananand Ji emphasized a lifestyle rooted in the principles of ‘Karma’ (righteous action) as taught in the Bhagavad Gita. Expressing his happiness, he noted that the small sapling planted by Dr O.P. Bhalla has now grown into a massive banyan tree as the institution enters its 30th year. He highly commended the patron, Satya Bhalla, along with Dr Prashant Bhalla and Dr Amit Bhalla, for this remarkable growth.

Alongside the blood donation drive, a free public health check-up camp was also organized, benefiting 153 people. Additionally, a mammography screening camp saw participation from 27 women aged 40 and above, who received free screenings. Demonstrating high social awareness, 272 individuals registered for stem cell donation, while 40 people pledged to donate their organs. The camp was successfully executed with the support of the Rotary Club, Rotary Blood Centre, Lions Club ESI Blood Bank, Badshah Khan Hospital, Santon Ka Gurudwara, and the Samanvaya Parivar Trust.
Dr Prashant Bhalla, Dr Amit Bhalla, and Dr N.C. Wadhwa expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all the donors and supporting organizations for making the event a grand success.
