‘Awarapan 2’ Trailer Released: Emraan Hashmi Returns as Shivam Pandit Ahead of August 14 Release

Awarapan 2 Trailer Released: The makers of the much-awaited sequel have unveiled the official trailer, bringing back Emraan Hashmi as Shivam Pandit after nearly 19 years. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the film will release worldwide on August 14, 2026.

Revived after a transformative phase at a Buddhist monastery, Shivam finds himself drawn back into a dangerous world he once tried to leave behind. Emraan Hashmi reprises one of the most celebrated roles of his career, with the sequel promising a story that expands the emotional and action-packed universe introduced in the 2007 film.

Joining the cast is Disha Patani, who plays Zara, a character with significant action sequences, while veteran actor Shabana Azmi takes on the role of the film’s primary antagonist, Nafisa. The ensemble cast also includes Puran Gabbi, Anirudh Rawal, Surendar Vicky, Vijayant Kohli and Atul Kumar in pivotal roles. Packed with high-octane action, emotional drama and visually striking sequences, the trailer hints at a story where every decision carries lasting consequences.

The sequel continues the franchise’s signature blend of intense storytelling and strong emotional depth. Music remains a major highlight of the film. The soundtrack has been created by Mithoon, Jeet Gannguli, Amaal Malik, Ankit Sachdev and Wasif Ahmad, with lyrics penned by Sayeed Qadri, Rashmi Virag, Akhil Sachdeva and Sachin Singh Chandel. Songs such as ‘Ve Junoon,’ ‘Yeh Awarapan’ and ‘Toh Phir Aao’ have already been released, while the trailer also features ‘Tera Mera Rishta’, sung by Saaj Bhatt and Subodhh Sharma.

Penned by Bilal Siddiqui, Awarapan 2 is presented by Mukesh Bhatt and Vishesh Films, with production led by Vishesh Bhatt. Pen Marudhar will distribute the film across India. Ahead of the sequel’s release, the original ‘Awarapan’ (2007) returned to cinemas on July 31, giving audiences an opportunity to revisit Shivam Pandit’s story before the next chapter arrives on the big screen.
