Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday paid heartfelt tributes to former Jharkhand movement leader and Padma Bhushan awardee late Shibu Soren on his first death anniversary. CM Soren visited Shibu Soren’s residence at Morabadi and offered floral tributes to his portrait.

Late Shibu Soren’s wife Rupi Soren, MLA Kalpana Soren and other family members also paid tribute and remembered his struggle, contributions and ideals.
Speaking to media persons, CM Hemant Soren said Dishom Guru Shibu Soren dedicated his entire life to the struggle for Jharkhand and the rights of its people. He said Shibu Soren continues to be remembered with respect across the state for his role in protecting the identity, dignity and rights of the people of Jharkhand.

CM Soren said that although Shibu Soren is no longer physically present, his vision, struggle and contributions will remain immortal. He added that his life was devoted to safeguarding the rights and welfare of tribal communities, indigenous people and deprived sections of society.
CM added Shibu Soren’s sacrifice and commitment will continue to inspire future generations. He emphasised that the state government is working with dedication to realise the vision of a developed, equal and prosperous Jharkhand envisioned by Dishom Guru. CM also paid tribute to all the martyrs of the Jharkhand movement for their sacrifices.
