New Delhi, June 5: The Outer District Police has intensified its community outreach efforts by organizing a series of awareness and empowerment programmes across various parts of the district over the past ten days. The initiatives aimed to promote personal safety, cyber security, child protection and community engagement among residents.

As part of the campaign, self-defence training programmes were held at several locations, including Paschim Vihar Police Colony, Chander Lok Park in Rani Bagh, DAV Centre Sultanpuri, Vivekananda Park West Enclave and Jan Shiksha Sansthan in Peeragarhi. Nearly 350 participants took part in the sessions, where they were taught practical self-defence techniques, emergency response strategies and methods to enhance situational awareness.

The Community Policing Cell also conducted a cyber awareness programme at DAV Centre, Sultanpuri. Participants were educated about emerging online threats such as OTP frauds, phishing attacks, fake loan applications, social media account hacking, sextortion, online shopping scams and UPI-related frauds. Officials highlighted the importance of digital safety and advised citizens to report cybercrime through the national helpline number 1930 and the Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.

In addition, the police conducted its “Naazuk” awareness programme at multiple locations to educate children about Good Touch and Bad Touch. The sessions focused on personal safety, recognising inappropriate behaviour, understanding personal boundaries and encouraging children to seek help and speak up when faced with uncomfortable situations.

According to police officials, these initiatives are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen police-public cooperation and create a safer, more informed and empowered community across the Outer District.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer District) Vikram Singh said the district police remains committed to community-focused policing and awareness programmes that contribute to public safety and social well-being.
