“70th Rail Seva Puraskar ” 2026 organized in Delhi Division

NEW DELHI : To commemorate the running of the first train in the country between Bori-Bunder and Thane, Indian Railways celebrate the Railway Week every year. This year, Delhi Division, Northern Railway organized 70th Rail Seva Puraskar” today in which Pushpesh Raman Tripathi, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Delhi presided over the Awards Distribution Ceremony held at National Rail Museum, New Delhi in the presence of Additional Divisional Railway Managers Sh. Sanjeev Kumar Sinha, Shri Tribhuvan Mishra & Sh. Nem Singh Bagheland other senior Railway Officials and employees of Delhi Division, Members of recognized Unions, Associations & Federations.

In 2025, passenger convenience was enhanced through introduction of a new Vande Bharat train on the NDLS–FZR section and two MEMU services on the Delhi Shahdara–Shamli section, along with redevelopment of 34 stations under the Amrit Bharat Scheme. Efficient festive passenger management was ensured with additional ticketing facilities, M-UTS facilities at NDLS holding area and ATVMs at NDLS and ANVT.Delhi Division of Northern Railway has achieved significant growth in goods loading during( FY) 2025-26. Overall loading has been 20.45 MT in FY 2025-26. Overall loading in Rakes has been 16101 rakes in FY 2025-26, 7.28% higher than previous FY (15008 rakes). The sectional speed on the Jind–Panipat section was increased from 65 kmph to 110 kmph.

A technologically advanced Shatak Tower Wagon has also been developed, equipped with Room Mounted Integrated Thermal Imaging System (RMITIS), AI-based height and stagger measurement systems, and enhanced operational features. CCTV cameras have been installed at switching posts to monitor critical assets and prevent miscreant activities, while a solar-based CCTV system has been installed at Ghaziabad yard to monitor pantograph entanglement cases and provide real-time feed to the TPC.Retrofit Emission Control Devices have been installed in 500 KVA DG sets, reducing particulate emissions by 99.21 percent and harmful gases by 70 percent. During 2025 Solar power plants with a total capacity of 413.05 KWp have been commissioned across multiple stations, resulting in annual energy savings of 6.02 lakh units, cost savings of ₹56.37 lakh, and a reduction of 33.17 tons in carbon emissions. During 2025 Electric Loco Shed Ghaziabad contributed significantly to inauguration of 9 Amrit Bharat trains equipped with push-pull locomotives, converted 43 locomotives from Non-HOG to HOG for fuel efficiency, and carried out fastest loco KAVACH installation on 78 locomotives. The successful operation of the Presidential Special Train from DSJ to Mathura and Vrindavan. During the year 2025, 327 children were rescued under the Nanhe Faristey initiative. A total of 1,480 luggage items were recovered under Operation Amanat, valued at (Rs 3.28 crore) ₹3,28,51,626. Under Operation Narcos, NDPS cases worth (Rs 82.2 crore) ₹82,21,75,040 were detected with 21 arrests, along with contraband cases valued at (Rs. 4.53 crore) ₹4,53,51,581 involving 101 arrests. Additionally, 178 theft cases were detected, valued at (Rs. 1.66 crore)  ₹1,66,10,540. Scrap disposal generated revenue of ₹58.51 crore, while machinery and plant procurement worth ₹7.94 crore ensured timely availability of critical equipment

During the ceremony 100Railway employees (Officers and Employees) were felicitated for their meritorious services by Shri Pushpesh Raman Tripathi, DRM Delhi. DRM congratulated all the awardees and lauded their efforts  while felicitating the employees in discharging their onerous duty 24×7.
