Zamil Limon death case: Arrest video of roommate surfaces as probe deepens

Florida: A disturbing turn has emerged in the death of Zamil Limon, as authorities released footage showing the arrest of his roommate Hisham Saleh Abugharbieh. The case has also drawn attention due to the disappearance of another student, Nahida S. Bristy.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Limon—who was pursuing doctoral studies at the University of South Florida—had been reported missing before his body was discovered on the Howard Frankland Bridge in Tampa.

Authorities confirmed that Abugharbieh was taken into custody following a domestic disturbance call at his residence. In the video released by officials, the suspect is seen stepping out of the house with his hands raised as officers, including a SWAT team, secure the scene and detain him.

Law enforcement officials stated that family members present at the home were able to exit safely before the suspect was apprehended. The situation escalated after he initially refused to comply, prompting the deployment of specialized units.

Investigators are also probing the disappearance of Bristy, who, like Limon, was last seen about a week earlier. While there has been no official confirmation regarding her fate, statements from family members have raised fears about her safety.

Officials revealed that Abugharbieh is facing multiple charges, including domestic violence, unlawful confinement, evidence tampering, and failure to report a death. Authorities emphasized that the investigation remains active, with teams continuing to follow leads around the location where Limon’s remains were found.

Sheriff Chad Chronister described the case as deeply troubling, assuring that investigators are committed to uncovering the full truth and ensuring accountability.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, particularly among students, as questions remain over the circumstances leading to Limon’s death and Bristy’s disappearance.
