Delhi Traffic Police announces movement curbs around Jhandewalan Temple in central Delhi from March 23 to March 27 to manage crowd flow and ensure smooth celebrations during Navratri.

New Delhi, March 23, 2026: The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory announcing traffic restrictions and diversions near Jhandewalan Temple in central Delhi due to ongoing Navratri celebrations.

According to officials, movement of heavy vehicles, including buses and commercial transport, will be restricted on Desh Bandhu Gupta Road between Kalka Das Chowk and the Jhandewalan roundabout from 12 noon to 10 pm during the festival period.

Traffic congestion is expected on Rani Jhansi Road and nearby stretches, especially during peak hours, as large numbers of devotees are expected to visit the temple.

Police said traffic personnel have been deployed at key junctions to manage vehicular flow and assist commuters during the festive rush.

However, authorities have warned that delays are likely and have urged commuters to plan their travel accordingly.

Vehicles coming from Ajmeri Gate and Rani Jhansi Road have been advised to take alternate routes via Panchkuiyan Road, Faiz Road, and R/A Bagga to reach their destinations.

Similarly, those travelling from Kalka Das Chowk have been asked to use diversion routes through Faiz Road and Panchkuiyan Road for smoother movement.

Officials have also suggested avoiding DBG Road and Rani Jhansi Road during peak hours to reduce congestion in the area.

The advisory comes as part of routine traffic management measures implemented during major religious gatherings in the capital.

Traffic police said the arrangements are aimed at ensuring public safety and minimizing disruption during the festive period.
