New Delhi | March 17, 2026: In a major breakthrough, Delhi Police apprehended a history-sheeter during a patrol operation in Central Delhi, recovering an illegal firearm and live ammunition from his possession. The arrest was made by the team of Patel Nagar Police Station as part of intensified surveillance measures across the area.
The accused, identified as Vinod alias Tinu, a resident of Baljeet Nagar, was intercepted near Shadipur Flyover following a tip-off. Acting swiftly, the police team laid a trap and detained the suspect, who was found carrying a country-made pistol along with two live cartridges.
Officials confirmed that the arrested individual is a known “bad character” registered with Anand Parbat Police Station and has a long criminal history. He has been previously involved in multiple cases, including robbery, snatching, theft, and violations under the Arms Act.
The operation was part of a broader strategy to enhance vigilance, with multiple patrol teams deployed across police stations to monitor suspicious movements and curb criminal activities, especially during late hours.
Senior officers stated that continued surveillance and prompt action by patrolling staff played a key role in the successful arrest. Further investigation is underway.
