New Delhi, March 11: The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) celebrated International Women’s Day 2026 at its headquarters in New Delhi on March 10, marking the conclusion of the nationwide Special Services Fortnight 2026. The event highlighted ESIC’s commitment to promoting the welfare, recognition, and rights of women employees and beneficiaries.
The programme was attended by Director General Ashok Kumar Singh, Financial Commissioner T. L. Yaden, Chief Vigilance Officer Manish Kumar Agrawal, and Medical Commissioner Dr. Sapna Mittal, along with guest speaker and life coach Anju Bahri and Ashray Trust programme coordinator Munjesh Yadav.

Speaking on the occasion, Singh said this year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” reflects ESIC’s guiding principle of Niswarth Seva (selfless service) and its dedication to strengthening social security. ESIC currently provides healthcare and social security benefits to over 3.84 crore insured persons and their families, with special focus on women’s health and maternity welfare.
Officials and staff also took the “Purple Ribbon Pledge,” an initiative of Ashray Trust, to oppose exploitation and abuse of women and girls. The event included motivational sessions and recognition of women employees who excelled in various competitions.

The celebration also marked the successful conclusion of the Special Services Fortnight held from February 24 to March 10 as part of ESIC’s 75th Foundation Year. During the fortnight, ESIC organized awareness camps, health check-ups, yoga and AYUSH sessions, and Suvidha Samagams to address stakeholders’ grievances.
A key initiative this year was the launch of daily health check-up camps for insured workers above 40 years, aimed at early detection of occupational diseases in line with the provisions of the new Labour Codes. Nationwide activities across ESIC field offices and hospitals reaffirmed the organisation’s focus on healthcare access, worker welfare, and social security.
