CM interacts directly with students, says: ‘Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue’ is a national platform to shape the roadmap for a developed India by 2047

New Delhi, 7 January 2026 : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday attended the send-off ceremony for selected participants from Delhi who will be taking part in the ‘Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026’ from 9 to 12 January. Interacting directly with the young participants who will represent Delhi at the national level, the Chief Minister encouraged them and conveyed a strong message of active participation in nation-building. Delhi Education Minister Shri Ashish Sood and other dignitaries were also present.

Youth power is the foundation of the resolve for ‘Viksit Bharat’

Engaging in direct dialogue with students from Delhi, the Chief Minister said that the energy, vision and commitment to the nation displayed by today’s youth constitute India’s greatest strength. She stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the youth of the country are empowered, confident and resolutely committed to nation-building. This determination, combined with innovation, hard work and positive thinking, is taking India to new heights.

Rekha Gupta said that the energy, talent and innovative mindset of Delhi’s youth form the foundation of a strong, self-reliant and developed Delhi. Addressing the participants, she emphasised that the ‘Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue’ is not merely a platform, but the beginning of a journey of leadership, ideas and responsibility.

Chief Minister recalls her college days

The Chief Minister said that interacting with students revived memories of her own college days. Sharing experiences from her student life, she remarked that she sees the same confidence, curiosity and determination in today’s youth. She said that the progress of the nation does not depend solely on governments or policies, but is possible only through the collective responsibility and participation of all 140 crore citizens of the country. She urged young people to go beyond merely identifying problems and become active contributors to solutions, ensuring their role in social and national development.

A new beginning for young leaders

Congratulating all the youths who will represent Delhi at the ‘Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue’, the Chief Minister said that this programme marks not just an event, but the start of a new journey for them. She expressed hope that even after returning from the national platform, these young leaders would remain actively engaged and continue contributing to the development of Delhi and the country. Addressing the students as “Young Leaders”, she assured them that the Delhi Government would always stand with them in their individual and collective endeavours.

A major achievement for selected students

Addressing the gathering, Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood said that being selected for the ‘Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue’ is, in itself, a significant achievement. He described the event as a resolve imbued with the spirit of nation-building and referred to the students as the youth of ‘Amrit Kaal’. He added that the ‘Team Delhi’ badge on their jerseys is not just an identity, but a responsibility.

Recalling the past, he said there was a time when Delhi’s youth were divided along the lines of private and government schools. Today, however, the Prime Minister’s Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue and the flag-off by Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta has united them under one banner. He said that from Rohini to East of the Yamuna, from West Delhi to South Delhi, participants from every corner of the city will present solutions to the nation on themes such as sustainable development, a developed Delhi, Startup Capital Delhi and innovation in governance.

He added that the Dialogue will provide young leaders with exposure to real governmental needs, the nuances of policy-making and the opportunity to drive change through fresh thinking.

What is the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue?

The programme is being organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, from 9 to 12 January at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. It is a national-level initiative that provides a common platform for youth from across the country to engage in dialogue, deliberation and innovation-driven solutions aimed at achieving the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047. Selected participants aged 15 to 29 years from all States and Union Territories will take part in the programme.
