Haryana reports 51.72 lakh Ration Cards under NFSA as of October 2024

Minister Rajesh Nagar details category-wise distribution of BPL and AAY ration cards in Assembly

Chandigarh: Haryana’s Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Rajesh Nagar, informed the Assembly that the state had a total of 51,72,270 ration cards in October 2024.

He shared this data while responding to a question from Rohtak MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra during the Winter Session. Rajesh Nagar explained that under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013, ration cards are issued in two categories: Priority Households (Below Poverty Line – BPL) and Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY).

According to the minister, Haryana had 48,79,423 BPL ration cards and 2,92,847 AAY ration cards in October 2024. This brought the total number of ration cards in the state to 51,72,270 for the month.
