New Delhi, November 10, 2025Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reviewed the situation following a massive explosion near Gate No. 1 of Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station, which killed  people and left others injured on Monday evening.

According to official sources, PM Modi spoke to Union Home Minister Amit Shah soon after the incident and sought a detailed report on the blast and the progress of the investigation.

The explosion occurred around 6:55 pm in a parked car, triggering a fire that spread to nearby vehicles. Fire department personnel and probe teams rushed to the site immediately. Later, a team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) joined the investigation after preliminary inputs suggested possible terror links.

Medical authorities at LNJP Hospital confirmed that 24 people were brought in critical condition, out of which eight succumbed to injuries. The rest are undergoing treatment.

Delhi Police have detained one suspect in connection with the blast, and a multi-agency investigation—involving the NIA, National Security Guard (NSG), Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), and Intelligence Bureau (IB)—has been initiated.

“Today at around 6:52 pm, a vehicle halted at the red light and suddenly exploded. The impact damaged nearby cars. All relevant agencies, including NIA and FSL, are on site. Some casualties have been reported, and the situation is under continuous watch,” said Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha.

Home Minister Amit Shah has remained in constant touch with both the Delhi Police Commissioner and the IB Director, issuing instructions for immediate action and enhanced surveillance in the national capital.

Teams from NSG, NIA, and forensic experts are working jointly to determine the cause and nature of the explosion. Security has been tightened across Delhi, particularly in high-footfall and heritage zones.

Officials said the Home Minister continues to receive minute-by-minute updates, while the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) is closely monitoring the investigation.
