Faridabad Police on Alert for Independence Day Security; Close Watch on Suspicious Persons and Vehicles

Checking operations are being conducted at Oyo hotels, guest houses, hotels, dharamshalas, and similar places.

Faridabad – Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta has issued necessary directions to strengthen security arrangements for Independence Day. He has instructed all Deputy Commissioners of Police to coordinate with police in neighboring states and districts to ensure proper exchange of information. Special checking is to be conducted in view of security concerns at tenants’ residences, domestic helpers, metro stations, bus stands, cyber cafes, hotels/dhabas, dharamshalas, inns, parking areas, and busy markets or other crowded places in their respective jurisdictions.

The police spokesperson informed that for security purposes, zone-wise teams of security agents, IB, and CID personnel have been formed. These teams are conducting zone- and station-wise checks. The appointed teams are inspecting malls, cinema halls, railway stations, bus stands, metro stations, markets, hotels, guest houses, Oyo properties, and dharamshalas. Police teams are also checking SIM card vendors and cyber cafes. All station in-charges are conducting inspections in their areas, including metro stations, markets, malls, crowded places, parks, and similar public areas.

He further stated that all station in-charges have been instructed to carry out continuous vehicle checks and take necessary action. In this regard, each station in-charge will set up two checkpoints in their jurisdiction to take action against suspicious vehicles. Traffic police have also been instructed to conduct checks and take action.

The police appeal to the public that if they notice any suspicious person staying at a bus stand, railway station, market, hotel/dhaba, dharamshala, or guest house, they should immediately inform the nearest police station/outpost or police control room. If any unclaimed object is found, do not touch it, as it may contain a bomb or explosive substance. Report such unclaimed objects to the police immediately to prevent any untoward incident. In case of any anti-social activity, suspicious person or vehicle, or any emergency, immediately contact the concerned police station, dial 112, call the control room at 9999150000 or 0129-2227200, and inform the nearest police station.
