Mumbai, June 28: In a heartbreaking development, television personality and actress Shefali Jariwala, widely remembered for her stint on Bigg Boss 13, passed away on the night of June 27 following a cardiac arrest. She was 42.

The tragic incident reportedly occurred late Friday night. According to hospital sources at Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Andheri, Shefali was rushed in by her husband Parag Tyagi and three others. However, she was declared brought dead upon arrival. She was later transferred to Cooper Hospital for post-mortem procedures.

Entertainment journalist Vickey Lalwani confirmed the news in a social media post, citing hospital staff who stated that Shefali had already passed away before reaching the facility. “She was brought dead by her husband and three others,” a receptionist was quoted as saying. Lalwani added that the on-call medical officer referred further inquiries to cardiologist Dr. Vijay Lulla, who declined to disclose any patient information.

The sudden loss has sent a wave of shock and sorrow across the television industry. Several celebrities took to social media to express their grief. Actor Aly Goni simply wrote, “RIP,” while Rajiv Adatia shared, “This is so sad.” Actress Monalisa reacted with disbelief, posting, “What?” Meanwhile, Divyanka Tripathi wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Still can’t process the news about Shefali. Gone too soon. Deeply sad for her husband and the family. 🙏”

Shefali, who first rose to fame with her iconic appearance in the music video Kaanta Laga, gained renewed popularity through her participation in Bigg Boss 13. Her vibrant personality and candid presence made her a fan favorite.

Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, was seen leaving Cooper Hospital late Saturday night, visibly distraught. As visuals from the hospital surfaced online, fans across the country expressed their condolences and heartbreak.
