Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 3rd Voice of the Global South Virtual Summit

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged nations of the Global South to come together and present a unified front. In his opening remarks at the 3rd Voice of the Global South Virtual Summit, PM Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to working closely with Global South countries.

He highlighted India’s dedication to advancing trade, inclusive development, progress on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and women-led initiatives.

PM Modi praised the role of digital public infrastructure in fostering inclusive growth, citing the establishment of the Global DPI Depository during India’s G20 Presidency as a milestone in multilateral cooperation.

He also announced that India has set up a Social Impact Fund to accelerate progress in Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for the Global South, with an initial contribution of 25 million dollars.

Addressing the current global climate of uncertainty and challenges, the Prime Minister expressed concern over the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and the additional complexities posed by conflicts and wars.

He emphasized the need for collective action and solidarity to navigate these challenges and continue advancing the development goals of the Global South.
