Bihar : A resident of Bihar has filed a case in a local court, alleging that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi caused him to drop a pail of milk, resulting in a loss of ₹250. The case, lodged by Mukesh Chaudhary in Samastipur district, stems from an incident in which Chaudhary claims he was so shocked by Mr. Gandhi’s remarks about “fighting against the Indian state” during a press conference last week that he accidentally dropped his bucket of milk. The bucket contained five litres of milk, priced at ₹50 per litre.
According to Chaudhary, the shock caused by Gandhi’s statement led him to drop the bucket, causing a significant loss. He believes that Gandhi’s words were a threat to the sovereignty of the nation, and as such, he has sought legal action against the Congress leader. Chaudhary has filed a petition in the civil court of Rosera sub-division, requesting a trial under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Section 152, which pertains to sedition.
This case is part of a larger controversy surrounding Gandhi’s remarks, which have sparked legal action in other parts of India. In Guwahati, an advocate filed a case accusing Gandhi of threatening the Indian state, leading to the registration of a separate legal proceeding against him.
Chaudhary’s complaint adds a unique and bizarre twist to the ongoing legal battles surrounding the Congress leader’s statements. While the case may seem unusual, it reflects the wider political and legal repercussions of Gandhi’s comments, which have drawn sharp reactions across India. Chaudhary’s petition has garnered attention as it seeks not only to hold Gandhi accountable for his statement but also to highlight the emotional and financial impact it had on the complainant.
The legal proceedings are likely to add to the growing tension surrounding Rahul Gandhi’s remarks and their potential legal ramifications, as various individuals and groups continue to seek redress through the courts
